Border Agents Find Catapult Used To Launch Drugs Over Southern Border

U.S. Customs and Border Protection

Border patrol agents in Arizona seized 47 pounds of high-flying marijuana that had been catapulted - literally - from Mexico to America, officials said.

Border Patrol agents in southern Arizona seized almost 50 pounds of marijuana that was catapulted over the border by drug smugglers in Mexico. Fox News reported that, "in recent years, smugglers have been known to shoot bundles of drugs over the border with devices such as air-powered cannons and catapults".

They searched the area nearby and found two bundles of marijuana.

Mexican law enforcement officers were contacted to investigate.

The agency said in a statement that it has seized the drugs, which weighed about 50 pounds combined.

According to a press release, American agents were patrolling the US side of the wall on February 10 when they saw a group scatter on the Mexican side. Upon notifying Mexican authorities, USA border agents dismantled the device and Mexican authorities seized it.

"An air compressor, a gasoline engine, an air storage tank and a metal tube about 3 meters long (homemade bazooka) were located inside".

Of course, your more tech-savvy Mexican drug smugglers don't rely on Medieval-era weapons to deliver their contraband to the USA - they simply use drones.
