White House puts Iran 'on notice' in stark warning over missile tests

These agreements had "emboldened" Iran, Flynn said.

Donald Trump's National Security Advisor Michael Flynn condemned Iran on Wednesday, in a drastic escalation of rhetoric.

Lastly, the Parliament, while voicing support for Iranians who live overseas including those residing in the U.S., considers the recent decision of America on visa ban as an insult to the Iranian nation as well as to the Islamic Ummah.

USA defense analysts later told Fox News that the attackers may have believed they were targeting a US ship.

Flynn also criticized former President Obama for being soft on Iran and claiming his administration "failed to respond adequately". The UN Security Council held a closed-door meeting Tuesday to discuss the test, which the United States said involved a ballistic missile.

In his first appearance in the White House briefing room, Flynn called that agreement "weak and ineffective".

While things are continuing in Amona, the White House is holding its daily press conference, though spokesman Sean Spicer has yet to be asked about Israeli settlement building or the Amona evacuation.

"Iran said on Tuesday it wasn't a violation and it would never use its ballistic missiles to attack another country, " she repeated.

Fox News reported Sunday that Iran conducted a test of its Khorramshahr medium-range ballistic missile at a well-known test site outside the city of Semnan, about 140 miles east of Tehran.

"Both men "'agreed on the importance of rigorously enforcing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action with Iran and of addressing Iran's destabilizing regional activities, ' the White House said in a statement".

The 2015 Security Council resolution adopted after Iran reached its nuclear deal with world powers calls on Iran not to take any actions related to ballistic missiles "designed to be capable of delivering nuclear weapons".

As to what action the administration might be contemplating to push back against Iran's regional behavior, officials said they were communicating their tougher position to try to get Iran's attention, while reviewing the policy.

The statement from Flynn marks a direct contrast from the restrained language of the Obama Administration, which had attempted to improve relations with Iran after years of antagonism.
