India's Sharp Rap To Pakistan At UN: Don't Lecture Us On Minorities

"In contrast, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir is administered by a "deep state" and has become a hub for the global export of terror", the official said.

To declare Gilgit-Baltistan as the fifth province would also require a constitutional amendment, which would need to be ratified by the Pakistani Parliament.

India has strongly objected to Pakistan's reported plans, stating that the entire state of Jammu & Kashmir, including Gilgit Baltistan, is a part of Indian territory.

He said that there is an increase in the acts of terrorism, violence and terrorism in various parts of the country in which Pakistan's Taliban and other terrorists were involved. "It will also not be able to hide the tremendous and very concerning human rights violation and denial of freedom that has been going in those parts under Pakistan's control for the last 70 years", Baglay told the media in Delhi.

"The indigenous people of PoGB and BNF particularly have no place to file an appeal/writ against these Pakistani allegations and slanders and atrocities because there is no legal/constitutional judicial system in this UN-declared disputed part of J&K", he added.

Responding to questions at his weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said Pakistan wants a sustainable dialogue, which is not disrupted on flimsy grounds.

Meanwhile, in what comes as a matter of concern for India, Pakistan is planning to declare Gilgit-Baltistan region as its fifth province.

In its "right of reply" in response to the statement made by Pakistan, India said Pakistan's continued support for terror groups operating in Jammu and Kashmir is the main challenge to protecting the human rights of Indian citizens in the state.

March 16 (ANI): Asserting that Pakistan is terrorizing indigenous people and giving full impunity to terrorists, Gilgit-Baltistan activist Abdul Hamid Khan has conveyed to the United Nations that Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) chief and 26/11 Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Muhammad Saeed is a "highly respected" terrorist in Islamabad, who has been awarded a de-facto status like that of a king by being kept under tight security, so that nobody would be able to get their hands on him.

At present, Pakistan has four provinces-Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

There was a drastic change in Pakistan's attitude to this region in 2009, when it was given near-provincial status under Gilgit-Baltistan Empowerment and Self-Governance Order.
