Apple iPhone 8 may face two-month delay due to screen issues

Is this the iPhone 8?

Today it is all about the upcoming iPhone 8 and the consumer base is almost half as big as it used to be three years ago.

When will the OLED iPhone arrive?

Industry sources say that concerns over the tricky panel production may have been exaggerated to create rumors about the new iPhone's possible delayed launch.

Apple is set to launch an anniversary edition iPhone alongside the iterative updates this September. Apple is also rumored to be adding wireless charging and a front-facing camera with Kinect-like abilities to track motion in 3D.

"I think the smartphone is still in the early innings of the game", the 56-year-old Apple CEO told investors during the earnings call.

"Significant hardware upgrades" are the reason for the hold up.

But it's increasingly sounding as if that redesigned iPhone may be delayed past Apple's traditional September launch period. The comment from the analyst supports several other reports made by news outlets. Apple has a huge base of fans who are eager to buy the latest iPhone that the huge tech firm churns out on a regular basis. The iPhone 8 will celebrate a decade of iPhone production. As far as iPhone 8's price is concerned, the next-gen iPhone is expected to be Apple's most expensive smartphone ever with a whopping price tag of over $1,000. Two weeks ago, Cowen and Company's Timothy Arcuri agreed. Twitter user Benjamin Geskin shared what appears to be the live images of a dummy iPhone 8, which he claims is a CNC (computer numerical control) model.

Augmented RealityIn addition, there are indications that Apple provides its new iPhone 8 with Augmented Reality. Reports assure that the product will still be released ahead of Christmas 2017.

September will see the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus arrive as expected.

Ming-Chi Kuo is an analyst for KGI Securities, a financial services group in the Asia-Pacific region. The premium 5.8-inch handset is said to have a sensor behind the edge-to-edge bezel-less OLED display, and Apple is having issues incorporating the fingerprint sensor within the display. This feature is also expected to be integrated into the display.

What makes the Samsung Galaxy Note 8's camera stand out, as per Kuo, is that it will boast 3x optical zoom, a 12 MP wide-angle CIS with dual photodiode (2PD) support, a 13 MP telephoto CIS, dual 6P lenses and dual optical image stabilization (OIS).
