North Korea Detains Another American Citizen

Pyongyang detained the former for stealing a political poster.

Kim said he had been living in China near the North Korean border for the past 15 years, commuting regularly to a special economic zone in the North.

Two months later, Kim Dong Chul was sentenced to 10 years hard labor for subversion.

Warmbier was detained and sentenced for attempting to steal a poster from a room in the Yanggakdo Hotel in Pyongyang in January a year ago. The U.S. has no direct diplomatic ties with Pyongyang. He had been "intercepted" at Pyongyang International Airport on April 22.

North Korean authorities detained a USA citizen by the name of Kim Hak-song on Saturday, according to reports by the state-run news agency KCNA on Sunday.

"He was prevented from getting on the flight out of Pyongyang..."

"Due to privacy considerations, we have no further comment", she said.
