Trump accuses media of fabricating news

News had broken the US President had called former FBI director James Comey a

Air Force One touched down on U.S. soil at 9pm Saturday night carrying the president and first lady, and the New York Times details some of the crises awaiting his attention, in particular reports that son-in-law Jared Kushner was in contact with Russians during the campaign.

The plan has also been described differently by the Trump administration, with the president and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin describing it as a massive tax cut, while White House budget chief Mitch Mulvaney said it would eliminate tax breaks and deductions to offset lower tax rates - suggesting the administration has yet to decide on a final plan.

"Whenever you see the words "sources say" in the fake news media, and they don't mention names it is very possible that those sources don't exsist but are made up by fake news writers.is the enemy!", he wrote, spelling errors and all.

The President, who significantly curtailed his presence on Twitter during his first worldwide tour - which took him to Saudi Arabia, Israel, The Vatican, Brussels and Sicily - could certainly be irritated at the revelations regarding Kushner published by The Washington Post last Friday in an article citing "US.officials briefed on intelligence reports".

President Trump then piled on the media bias in the coverage of this week's Montana congressional race, saying it was treated as "a big deal" by Democrats and "fake news" media "until the Republican won".

Kushner, who is married to Trump's daughter Ivanka, had contacts with Moscow in December about opening a secret back channel of communications, according to news reports published while Trump was away on his trip.

White House officials defended the concept of secret communications channels without commenting specifically on the Kushner case.

"Any way that you can communicate with people, particularly organisations that are maybe not particularly friendly to us, is a good thing".

Seemingly unable to control the leaks within his own White House, Mr. Trump has become increasingly frustrated.

Other reports about Kushner's interactions with Russian officials have surfaced in recent days in other major news outlets, including The Washington Post.

Jared Kushner is understood to be under scrutiny by the FBI as part of its wider investigation into Russian links.

Though he had not seen evidence of collusion when he stepped down on January 20, Clapper said all the signs made an FBI investigation not only appropriate but necessary.
