80 people form human chain to save family at Florida beach

Human chain

Jessica Simmons and her husband were having a beach side dinner when she saw the family struggling.

All members of the family were rescued and are recovering after their ordeal. "I felt like God heard our prayers and gave everybody strength to do it". They realized the waters were much stronger than they anticipated and became trapped as well. According to Ursrey, her mother had a heart attack in the water. The official finished by saying that it's fantastic that people got together to do this.

"I tried and tried and tried to swim out against it, behind it, every which way I could and I could not swim out of it, it was so strong", she told Inside Edition. She went into the tide and got herself stuck in the same situation.

A family stuck in a rip current narrowly avoided a tragedy when a crowd of strangers linked together to bring them back to land.

A young mother of four was enjoying a day at the beach when she saw two of her boys way out in the water and screaming for help. However, when multiple people attempted to swim out to save them, they were then caught in the powerful current as well.

Remarkable photos snapped along the shores of Panama City Beach on Saturday captured the chain stretching into the water, where at least nine people gasped for their lives, the Panama City News Herald reported. You can sometimes see water, or seaweed, moving away from the beach.

According to a report, Jessica said, that when she noticed everyone's direction was facing the water, she thought about Shark and started coming out of the water slowly. I tell my son over & over don't go.

"I knew we had to do something". People who COULDNT even swim was part of that human chain.

There was no life guards on duty and people on the beach had no rescue equipment, only boogie boards, surf boards and their arms and legs.

"To see people from different races and genders come into action to help TOTAL strangers is absolutely unbelievable to see!" she wrote in a Facebook post describing the entire harrowing situation.

"I have always been a GREAT swimmer", Simmons wrote on Facebook.

Thankfully, all the nine people drowning were saved.

"She kept telling us to let her go and save ourselves", Jessica Simmons said. "It was beachgoers and the grace of God's will", Ursrey said.

Beckton said the eight people in the water survived but added that only one police officer ran into the water while lambasting another for standing by as someone else helped a woman needing CPR.

Over 35,000 reacted to Jessica's post.
