Doomfist finally coming to Overwatch [Watch video]

His ultimate ability, Meteor Strike launches him into the air and crashes into the ground for maximum damage. Everyone else will be able to play as the villainous character next week. As fans have speculated, the newest hero to the game is Doomfist.

In addition to the hand cannon, he also possesses a secondary attack called Rocket Punch, which can knock enemies into the air or slam into the ground.

All the rumors have panned out, as Blizzard has added long-awaited character Doomfist to the Overwatch PTR.

Despite his large size, Doomfist is a highly mobile offense character. Game Director Jeff Kaplan introduces the 25th hero by breaking down his abilities, world view, history, and his journey that began since Overwatch's announcement.

No word yet on when Doomfist will finally be available to play, so check back for more updates on the future of the character! He is decked with cybernetics and uses a rather formidable looking Hand Cannon for ranged battles, when he's not punching enemies in the face. Overwatch's next hero has Rocket Punch, which is a forward-dashing punch that can be charged to go further, and it does more damage when it hits enemies into a wall.

His real name is Akande Ogundimu, and he's actually the third Doomfist via ownership of the Doomfist gauntlet, a weapon that mysteriously disappeared from its display case upon the release of Overwatch's Numbani map. Doomfist is coming to Overwatch and he'll be voiced by none other than Terry Crews.

The fact that Orisa spent a long time in PTR could also mean that Doomfist will require a shorter or longer time in testing. For his ultimate ability, Doomfist can unleash his Meteor Strike attack, where he'll leap into the air and smash down to deal a widely damaging smash, which looks ideal for clearing enemy players off the objective.

Dealing damage with abilities creates temporary personal shields.
