The disturbing footage, reportedly streamed on Instagram and obtained by Buzzfeed and Daily Mail, allegedly shows Obdulia Sanchez, 18, driving while intoxicated while her 14-year-old sister and another teen girl are in the backseat of the vehicle.
Obdulia Sanchez aimed the camera phone at her face as she rapped along to the song blaring over the radio and tried to control the vehicle she was driving on a road in California's Central Valley.
According to police, Obdulia Sanchez, who was driving drunk at around 6:40 p.m. on Sunday, crashed her Buick into a field after losing control of it, not before throwing her sister, who was not wearing a seatbelt, out of the auto as it mowed down barbed wire fences.
Obdulia Sanchez was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and causing a deadly crash after an incident in which her 14-year-old sister was killed.
"Hey, everybody, if I go to - - - - jail for life, you already know why", she began, adjusting the camera so that it showed her younger sister, motionless and bleeding from the head. I'm sorry, baby. I'm gonna hold it down'.
Obdulia then repeatedly asks her sister to wake up and reiterates that she did not mean to kill her. "Wake up, baby". A passenger is seen outside the auto, apparently waving for help, while Obdulia Sanchez kneels beside her sister on the ground. The other passenger sustained major trauma to her right leg. "This is the last thing I wanted to happen to us but it just did", Sanchez says in the video. "I recorded it and posted it mainly because as someone who uses Snapchat I see a lot of people driving with their Snapchats doing what she was doing so to me it was like an eye opener".
