Four Palestinians wounded in Israel air attacks on Gaza

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas

Israel will allow Palestinian business executives from Jerusalem to visit the Gaza Strip for the first time in years, a defense ministry body said Tuesday.

Israeli jets struck two Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip overnight Tuesday, hours after a rocket fired from the Palestinian enclave hit an open area in southern Israel.

Israel says attacks carried out after rockets were fired out of Gaza, a claim that Hamas denies. "No injuries have been reported", the IDF said on Twitter. They say it was launched against targets belonging to the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), following a projectile attack launched from Gaza that landed in an unpopulated area and didn't injure anyone.

The victims' injuries ranged from light to critical, Ayman Al Sahbani, the head of the Emergency and Ambulance department at Al Shifa Medical Center in Gaza City was quoted as saying by the Maan news agency.

"The fourth person, a 26-year-old, is in serious condition".

He said that Israeli F16 warplanes bombed a site northwest of Gaza City and another to the west of the city causing damage to both sites and to civilian homes nearby. "In response, IAF aircraft targeted two Hamas posts in the northern Gaza strip".
