Taylor Swift expected to testify in backstage groping lawsuit case

Taylor Swift might have to show up in a federal court in Denver on Monday

Jury selection begins on Monday for Taylor Swift's court case, continuing the 27-year-old singer's legal battle with Denver, Colorado, radio host David Mueller, that's been going on since 2015.

In her deposition a year ago, Swift described the incident in detail, explaining how in 2013 the Denver disc jockey allegedly reached his hand up her skirt and groped her backstage at her concert at the Pepsi Centre in Denver.

The Denver Post reported that security removed Mueller from the concert shortly after the meet-and-greet photo session and Swift's manager Frank Bell told KYGO about the alleged incident. "It was not an accident, it was completely intentional, and I have never been so sure of anything in my life", Swift said of the incident during a deposition.

The trial begins Monday in Denver.

Swift tried to keep the situation "discreet and quiet and confidential" and was upset by Mueller's claim that "for some reason she might have some incentive to actually fabricate this story", her attorney, Douglas Baldridge, has argued in court.

He also says the security guard did not react to anything during the backstage meeting and that as many as 20 other people took photographs with Swift after Mueller left.

One month later, Swift countersued Mueller for assault and battery.

Both Swift and Mueller are expected to testify in this civil trial.

Immediately following the incident, Swift reportedly informed her mother, Andrea Swift, and members of her team of the alleged sexual assault. The couple had exchanged pleasantries with Swift before huddling for a photo, according to Mueller's lawsuit against the singer.

The basis for Mueller's suit stemmed from the money he was making prior to being fired-reportedly around $150,000 base salary, plus various bonuses-and his belief he had not touched Swift inappropriately at any time. David Mueller's attorney has confirmed that Mueller will also be testifying in the trial. KYGO claims Mueller was sacked for violating the morality clause of his contract after it says it independently determined that he lied about the incident, changed his story and inappropriately touched Swift.

Mueller sued Swift on September 10, 2015 - two years after the alleged incident - claiming her accusations that he inappropriately touched her were false and cost him his $150,000-a-year job and future career opportunities.

Jurors were specifically asked if they were at the June 2, 2013 concert at the Pepsi Center.

The trial is expected to last about two weeks, with opening statements set to start Tuesday.

But if you're a Swift fan-or even if you're taking up for Mueller-don't expect to rock any supportive garb in the courtroom setting.

Swift is countersuing, claiming sexual assault.

The trial is expected to last nine days. He and his girlfriend were escorted out of the arena and a member of Swift's team called his boss.
