Kareem Walker, Oliver Martin not dressed for Michigan-Cincinnati game

Michigan quarterback Wilton Speight throws a pass in the first quarter of an NCAA college football game against Cincinnati in Ann Arbor Mich. Saturday Sept. 9 2017

Cincinnati Bearcats and Michigan Wolverines lock horns in the college football action this Saturday. Offensively, Michigan was okay, but quarterback Wilton Speight threw a pair of interceptions for touchdowns to allow Florida to stay in the game.

Cincinnati pulled within 17-14 on the first drive of the second half on an efficient 85-yard, 10-play drive that included quarterback Hayden Moore sparking the Bearcats with a 46-yard run.

Rudolph broke Brandon Weeden's mark of 9,260 yards it late in the second quarter, and finished the night with 9,352.

Speight (17 of 29, 221 yards, two touchdowns) didn't make any critical mistakes, but the offense was stop-and-start and there's still a developmental curve with a young group of receivers. Keep an eye out for how many rushing yards MI might have the ability to install on Cincinnati after 215 contrary to a Florida defense. Michigan's offense has produced four touchdowns in two games, and the defense has three TDs and a safety in that same time frame.

If Cincinnati struggled to move the ball against Austin Peay, it's hard to imagine the Bearcats moving the ball against this MI defense in Ann Arbor.

ยท MI is now 115-18-3 in home openers and 3-0 under Jim Harbaugh.

The Wolverines opened as a 31.5-point favorites.

The bigger Badgers (2-0) wore down the Owls (0-2) despite some middling play in the middle of the game. Both teams weren't shy about throwing newcomers into the fire during their season openers.

Then, freshman receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones fumbled a punt, and the rest of what transpired was an uneven-at-best performance in a 36-14 win against the Bearcats in two of three phases. Defensively, Michigan football yields 17.0 points and 192.0 total yards per game, 181.0 in passing and 11.0 in rushing. TV station: ABC Cincinnati is just 1-0 under new head coach Luke Fickell after beating FCS opponent Austin Peay 26-14. "Don Brown had an excellent gameplan", MI head coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters. Attendance for the game was 111,384.
