Four Tottenham players out for Saturday's FA Cup match vs. Newport

However, Tottenham face Manchester United on the Wednesday after the match and it could be too big of a risk to play players such as Harry Kane against a team 3 divisions below, with a huge match coming up in a matter of days.

As mentioned, Pochettino is clearly taking the FA Cup seriously this year and is willing to play first team stars against lower league opposition.

Tottenham Hotspur will face-off against Newport County this evening.

Pochettino has made a decision to rotate some of his side again, though Michel Vorm keeps his place in goal from last weekend's 1-1 draw at Southampton, having deputised for the absent Hugo Lloris.

Eric Dier keeps his place while Juan Foyth comes in for Davinson Sanchez alongside Jan Vertonghen in defence.

Pochettino has also hailed Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko, saying: "He is the only player who gives or provides balance in those transitions - offensive to defensive, defensive to offensive - in the team".

No matter, who plays for Tottenham, they should have no trouble against Newport County.

Newport will be facing Tottenham for the first time since consecutive FA Cup meetings in 1959 and 1960, with Spurs winning both games, scoring four in each.

The North London side will come into the game on the back of a disappointing 1-1 draw at Southampton.

Spurs have scored at least two goals in their last six FA Cup appearances.

But, to win silverware Pochettino admits his team must find more consistency across all competitions.

Spurs arrive in excellent form and have just one defeat in 12 games - that 4-1 defeat to Manchester City back in December. And Saturday's FA Cup clash will present him with another opportunity to endear himself to the Tottenham faithful.
