Michael Douglas accused of masturbating in front of employee

Michael Douglas' Accuser Claims 'He Was Rubbing' His Privates In Front Of Her

"He thought he was the king of the world and that he could humiliate me without any repercussions", she said in an interview that aired Friday. Author Susan Braudy ran the NY office of Douglas's production company Stonebridge Productions at the time of the alleged incidents. "She also has a 1993 letter from the California Women's Law Center showing she inquired about remedies for sexual harassment in the workplace (read it here)", the Reporter adds, "though she says she was too intimidated to follow through with a complaint". She alleged that he masturbated in front of her at a work meeting at his apartment, used inappropriate sexual language around her and blackballed her in the film industry. "The most traumatizing experience, she said, took place during a one-on-one script meeting in his apartment, during which Douglas masturbated in her presence, prompting her to run home crying". "Then he began to sort of began to fondle himself, and I was very scared", she said.

Journalist Susan Braudy told NBC's Today show that the actor unbuckled his belt, put his hand into his pants and fondled himself in her presence. "One of my friends said you better not tell people about him", she says in the clip. "People were frightened for me", she told NBC.

A rep for Douglas did not immediately respond to a request for further comment. He said, "I'm bewildered why, after 32 years, this is coming out, now".

Douglas previously said of the allegations: "It's extremely painful".

Braudy recounted her story during an appearance on the Today Show where the writer stated that she was employed for Douglas in the late 1980s, when the incident occurred.

Braudy's accusations emerge a little over a week after Douglas preemptively told Deadline he expected to be accused of sexual misconduct and denied any wrongdoing, calling it a "complete lie, fabrication". She was a lady who was involved in development at my company, and we just didn't have a good development record in the time she was there, so I just moved on.

Her claims include that he performed a sex act in front of her. I've had up to 20 female executives who worked at my company in different areas over the years. Six months later, she was sacked. Braudy recalls thinking that Douglas "thought he could do anything he wanted because he was so much more powerful than I was". Two, she claims that in conversations I had in front of her, on the phone, that I spoke raunchily, or dirtily with friends of mine, in private conversations.

Douglas then said the claims have no merit because he and his wife, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones are supporters of women's causes.

"Michael ran barefoot after me to the elevator, zipping his fly and buckling his belt".

He also claimed there is no evidence against him and he feared that such accusations could set back the #MeToo movement that has grown in the wake of the Hollywood sexual harassment scandal.

"I believe this is part of the problem, as is his pretext of victimization", Braudy explained.
