Some People Have a Big Complaint With Apple's $1000 iPhone X

Apple Offers Free Repairs for iPhone Glitch

Apple iPhone X users were unable to see the caller ID for a brief period when they receive a phone call.

The users are saying that the phone rings promptly. The company told the Financial Times that it was "looking into these reports", but gave no further details. Additionally, based on the reports, the incoming call affects iPhone X units running at least iOS 11.2, but earlier versions of iOS 11 might have the problem as well.

However, the lack of Home Button means users largely rely on touchscreen actions to perform actions with the phone, like a tap to wake the display, and swiping from the edge at the bottom of the display to close an app.

While the change will impact other smartphone brands as well, top rivals such as Samsung and Xiaomi already make most of their Indian phones locally.

Apple's most costly and best device till date, iPhone X which was sold for Rs. 1,05,720 previously, will now be sold for Rs. 1,08,930 for the 256GB variant.

iPhone X users have the option to use setup call on other devices which will allow them to route their incoming calls to a different Apple iPhone on the same Wifi network.

Experts, however, believe a software tweak is all it might take to solve the issue. Apple also has stated that it's possible they'll require the customer to get their iPhone repaired in the country or region of purchase, and if there are any unrelated issues such as a cracked screen, they'll need to get that resolved first before going through Apple's fix service. Apart from this, Apple also said that the devices should be purchased in the last two years and the customers should get issues like faulty/cracked screens sorted out first before getting the free fix.

Apple has increased the prices of the iPhones for the second time in less than two months. Apple imports an estimated 90% of its devices.

Over a thousand people claim to have experienced the issue, across multiple postings in Apple's "Communities" support forum.
