Donald Trump calls for drug dealers to face death penalty

Donald Trump Heads to Pennsylvania Steel Country

Last April, Trump also praised Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte for doing an "unbelievable job on the drug problem" during a phone call.

March 11 ― President Donald Trump attacked his critics, promoted his steel and aluminum tariffs and tossed out an idea to have drug dealers face the death penalty, addressing a raucous rally yesterday for a Republican congressional candidate in a tight race.

He also threatened to impose taxes on German automakers Mercedes-Benz and BMW after the European Union threatened to appeal the Trump administration's steel and aluminium tariffs at the World Trade Organisation.

The race has become an unlikely battleground in a district the president won by over 19 percentage points in 2016.

With the election just three days away, both campaigns have been attempting to galvanize their voters to turn out to the polls.

President Donald Trump gave a raucous, freewheeling speech in Pennsylvania on Saturday, in which he lashed out at some of his favorite targets, one by one.

TRUMP: Then I get up in the morning. "... These people are killing our kids and they're killing our families, and we have to do something". "We love Trump", one man yelled.

But Trump spent most of his hour and 20 minutes on stage talking about nearly every other topic under the sun.

As for reports of a possible candidacy by Oprah Winfrey, Trump said: "I'd love to beat Oprah - I know her weakness".

On North Korea, Trump used his familiar refrain of, "Let's see what happens", just days after it was announced that he intends to meet directly with Kim Jong Un in the hopes of achieving the permanent denuclearization of the rogue regime.

He called an African-American congresswoman a "very low-IQ individual" and bashed the moderator of NBC's "Meet the Press" as a "sleeping son of a bitch". His new slogan will be "Keep America great!" with an exclamation point. "That means if we catch a drug dealer, death penalty, '" Trump said.

Trump has privately endorsed Singapore's policy of executing dealers, as well, and according to the Post, "Singaporean representatives have briefed senior White House officials on their country's drug policies, which include treatment and education, but also the death penalty, and they provided a PowerPoint presentation on that country's laws". Trump also attacked the new map, calling it "very unfair".

And in a rally at Pittsburgh's airport Saturday evening, Trump did mention the Republican running in Tuesday's special election, Rick Saccone, a handful of times.

DETROW: And he told the crowd he needs Republicans to do it. Democrat Conor Lamb may be conservative, Trump said.

Citing the stock market decline that followed his tariff announcement, Trump said: "Not all of our friends on Wall Street love it, but we love it".

Ahead of his speech, the president tweeted there would be a "big and happy crowd", and that Rick will "help me a lot" if he's in Congress.

Trump talked up the economy since his election.

"He said, 'Is it a dealbreaker?' " Trump recalled. "If the Democrats were to prevail in western Pennsylvania, that would be quite an quake", Rep. Charlie Dent said last week. I said: 'Bye-bye. We're not making a deal.'" North Korea, he said, was "tough", and "should have been handled. and everybody will say it, too. "If I came like a stiff, you guys wouldn't be here tonight", he said.

Moore's Democratic opponent, Doug Jones, went on to win the race, becoming the first Alabama Democrat elected to the U.S. Senate in more than two decades. "I don't think we should play games", Trump said.
