Up to mid-day local time in Greece, 12 bodies were recovered from the sea, including a child, while a pregnant woman was rescued and transferred immediately to the hospital on the island. Nine News said the girl's mother alerted emergency services and that a beachgoer performed CPR for 30 minutes until paramedics arrived. Authorities have not said what kind of shark may be responsible. The coastline is reportedly known for great white shark sightings.
